Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 on an Olympic celebration. Bela Karolyi later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci at just six years old. She first competed at the junior national championships of Romania in 1969, she was 13th. In 1970, she won. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals as well as one silver. In 1976, she became the first person in the world who used a double backwards salto for a dismount off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she was performing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was in her teens. She started her career performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating shows.
